About Board Games Clubs

 

Mad Hatter Board Games operates in Cambridge, UK, so we thought it would be a good idea to list the board game events that you can attend in Cambridge and surrounding area. Some of these events / clubs are "just turn up", others are run from peoples houses so you will need to ask the organisers if it's okay for you to attend. Madhatterboardgames are happy to forward your request to attend a games event, just ask us.

  How to book a games sessions?

Booking Methods...

Invite Only: Some games sessions are held in peoples homes and the space is limited, so these are invite only. However please ask if you wish to attend and we can ask the host.

Book This Event: These games sessions are held in public buildings, so any member can book this session.

Board Game Clubs for the Cambridge area

Chesterton Friday Games Night

When: Friday night weekly from 7:30pm to about 11pm.

Location: Chesterton, Cambridge.

Cost: Entrance is free, bringing nibbles is apppreciated (no cheap rubbish please :-).

Summary: Board games of all types are played, often starting off with a quick fun big group game, then tending to focus on the modern multi-player games of around a 2 hours duration.

Grad Pad Games Day

When: 1st Saturday of every month from 10am to about 10pm.

Location: University Centre, Granta Place, Cambridge, CB2 1RU

Cost: Entrance is free. Condition is you use the canteen or coffee shop and not bring your own drinks/food.

Summary: Board games of all types are played, tending to focus on the modern multi-player games of around a 30 mins - 2 hours duration, but longer games are not exceptional.

Mad Hatters Wednesday Games Afternoon

When: Wednesday afternoon weekly from 2pm to about 5pm.

Location: Chesterton, Cambridge.

Cost: Entrance is free.

Summary: Smallish afternoon group, with a game to suit the size of the group. Often just one table, sometimes 2.

The Mid-Suffolk Gaming Group

When: Friday night weekly from 7:00pm until late.

Location: Wyverstone Village Hall, Rectory, Road, Stowmarket, IP14 4SG

Cost: Entrance is free, bringing nibbles are always welcome!

Summary: Board games of all types are played, such as Ticket to Ride, Just one, and Fury of Dracula were played.

Ely Games Day

When: 3rd Saturday of every month from 12pm to about 10pm.

Location: The Old Dispensary, St Mary's Street, Ely, CB7 4ER

Cost: First visit is free, then £5 after that.

Summary: Board games of all types are played, such as Russian Railroads, Small World, 7 Wonders, Settlers of Catan etc

The Games Table

When: Wednesay night weekly from 7:30pm until late.

Location: Swavesey

Cost: Entrance is free, bringing nibbles are always welcome!
